Description

A fascinating cultural survey of Liverpool’s pubs, inns and hostelries, beginning with one of Liverpool’s oldest extant buildings – Ye Hole in the Wall on Hackins Hey, and finishing with a survey of Liverpool brewers such as Higson’s, Cains; this course is intended to highlight the rich visual/cultural history and developmental stories behind these a large number of significant locations, which generations of Liverpudlians have passed through in countless rites of passage. This course will appeal to anyone with an interest in Liverpool history, town planning, breweriana, art, architecture and social history.
