At the end of this 12-week module, students will be able to briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans as well as narrate a story or relate the plot of a book or film and describe their reactions to it. They will be able to enter unprepared into conversation on topics that are familiar, of personal interest or pertinent to everyday life (e.g. family, hobbies, work, travel and current events) and to understand the main point of many radio or TV programmes on current affairs or topics of personal or professional interest when the delivery is relatively slow and clear. Course DescriptionThis Spanish language module is designed for students who have completed levels 5 and 6, and with a B1+ standard of the language in the Common European Framework of Reference. Through a variety of methods students will develop an advanced competence in reading, writing, listening and speaking Italian and an understanding of advanced Spanish grammar. At the end of this 12 week module students will have reached a B2- proficiency level in the Common European Framework of Reference and will be able to understand extended speech and lectures and follow even complex lines of argument provided the topic is reasonably familiar; read articles and reports concerned with contemporary problems in which the writers adopt particular attitudes or viewpoints; interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible; present clear, detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects related to their field of interest; write clear, detailed texts on a wide range of subjects related to their interests, such as an essay or report.
