CPD on Fire Dynamics at University of Liverpool

This CPD aims to provide an introduction to fire dynamics, which is an essential part of fire safety engineering for performance-based design. It will be delivered within the context of British Standards of PD 7974-1 [Application of fire safety engineering principles to the design of buildings, Part 1: Initiation and development of fire within the enclosure of origin]. This CPD particularly welcomes the individuals who are from Fire Service, Building Control, or professionals who have an engineering degree but would like to upskill their knowledge to fire safety engineering. This CPD is designed to improve those professionals with better confidence to carry out a review of fire engineering solutions. During each session, ‘hands-on’ interactive calculation tutorials for real-life fire/building design challenges will be exercised, to ensure each attendee absorbs the knowledge with an acceptable pace. Hence, we will limit the intake to 15 students only.

2025 Fired-Up Conference – 10-11^th July 2025

The University of Liverpool Fire Research Group will host the 2025 Fired-Up Conference. Fired-Up is an annual student-led conference for fire safety engineering students from across the UK and welcoming students from outside the UK. The conference is only for students and is an opportunity to present research developed by students to peers in a supportive environment to receive constructive feedback and share experiences while supporting student networking
