Measuring the Universe (Monday 7pm - 9pm)

How big is the Universe, and when did it begin? What are dark matter and dark energy, and how do we know they exist if we can’t see them? This course offers an insight into the techniques professional astronomers use to study various phenomena in space.

No prior knowledge is required, and the course provides an opportunity for students to see how GCSE-level maths can be used to understand the cosmos. This course will therefore give you the opportunity to re-engage with basic maths skills and apply them to our Universe. The course also includes a weekly guide to observing the night sky.
