We are delighted to welcome you in Liverpool for the 2025 British Meiosis Meeting! Meeting will take place at the Liverpool Medical Institute (114 Mount Pleasant, Liverpool L3 5SR) in Liverpool city centre on the  26-27 of March 2025. We hope to provide the meeting without a registration fee but you will need to book your own hotels. To allow for on the day travel, we will start at 11.30am on the 26th and finish by 2.30pm on the 27th.  We will also have an amazing keynote speaker, an EMBO YI Joao Matos.

There will be plenty of opportunities for talks and posters for PhD students and Post-Doc's as well as newPIs. Abstract submission as well as registration deadline is February 20th but we appreciate early registrations to give us the feel for the numbers.

CryoEM revolution in structural biology

Description

The University of Liverpool will be bestowing an Honorary doctorate to Dr Richard Henderson. To mark this, a Celebratory symposium entitled “cryoEM revolution in structural biology’ is organised on 16th July 2025 at the University of Liverpool. This one day symposium would bring speakers from Universities of Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Imperial and Birkbeck as well as from the Crick Institute and Astex Pharmaceuticals.

Dr Henderson has received several prizes including the Gregori Aminoff prize for Crystallography from Royal Swedish Academy (1999); Copley Medal from the Royal Society (2016); Gjonnes medal in electron crystallography from the International Union of Crystallography (2017), Nobel Prize for Chemistry (2017) and Companion of Honour (2018).

Attendance to the symposium is strictly by registration. Due to limited space, early registration is encouraged. Those requiring accommodation may avail a discounted University rate (for the first 20 rooms) at the Novotel Hotel (5 minutes’ walk from the Life Sciences Building where the symposium would be held) using the code:cryoEM revolution.

Attendance to the event will include lunch in the Novotel, Paddington Village.
