HE ASAUK BIENNIAL DINNER AND AWARDS CEREMONY
Sponsored by Flutterwave, he ASAUK Biennial Dinner and Awards Ceremony taking place on Saturday 3rd September at the Victoria Gallery and Museum, University of `Liverpool. It will be preceded by a drinks reception commencing at 6pm at the same venue. We are asking all attenders to sign up for the dinner by making a donation of £30 to support future ASAUK events particularly the funding of prizes and awards for emerging academic researchers in African studies. Dinner places are allocated on a first come first served basis and the venue has a maximum seating capacity of 100, so please sign up to ensure your place.

Hosted by the University of Liverpool, The theme of this IASPM UK/Biennial Conference is Challenge and Change in Popular Music. The conference will take place in Liverpool, a UNESCO City of Music. The city’s new landmark venue, the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, will act as the main conference venue and meeting point, with panel sessions taking place in the neighbouring Management School. Both venues are part of the University of Liverpool campus in Liverpool city centre, and just a short walk from the city’s central Lime Street Station. Our sponsor Flutterwave is hosting a networking Lunch for students and Early Career Researchers, (ECRs) attending the conference. This will take place at the Old Library at the School of the Arts on Saturday afternoon. All ECRs and students, who would like to attend are asked to sign up and make a nominal donation of £10 which will be a contribution to future ECR activities at ASAUK. Please sign up for the event early as the University remains cautious about room occupancy numbers post-covid.Thus attendance will be on a first come first served basis and limited to the maximum recommended room capacity.
