Join Us for the New Small Animal Clinical Club Evenings

We’re excited to invite you to our new series of Small Animal Clinical Club Evenings, hosted by the Small Animal Teaching Hospital and the Veterinary Postgraduate Unit.

🗓️ When: Once a month from September to July (no sessions in January or August)
🕡 Time: Buffet and refreshments from 6:30 PM, followed by the lecture at 7:00 PM
📍 Where: Leahurst House, Leahurst Campus, CH64 7TE

These evenings will feature a range of informative and engaging lectures delivered by expert teams from across the hospital, offering insights into the latest in small animal clinical practice.

  • A networking buffet

  • A clinical lecture on a topical subject

  • An optional guided tour of the hospital

Thursday 05 March 2026 - Identifying and management of a portosystemic shunt - case discussion

When a routine anaesthetic doesn’t go to plan, how do you approach the case? This interactive, case-based session follows a first opinion patient with a prolonged recovery from anaesthesia. Together, we’ll work through the clinical reasoning, diagnostics, and interpretation that led to a diagnosis of a portosystemic shunt. With plenty of practical take-home tips and audience participation throughout, this session is ideal for vets and nurses in general practice looking to build confidence in tackling delayed recoveries and recognising when something more serious might be going on.

The evening will take place Leahurst House, Leahurst Campus, CH64 7TE Registration from 6.30pm including buffet and refreshments.  Lectures to start at 7pm
