Course Description

Apple, pears, and many soft fruits such as currants and gooseberries all benefit from pruning in the winter to ensure a good cycle of fruiting stems. Plants that are not pruned become less productive and congested with older branches.

Whether you are a beginner or just need a refresher, this workshop will get you pruning with confidence. The workshop will start with an introduction covering what, where, when why and how you prune fruit before heading out into the gardens for some practical experience.

The workshop runs 10am-3pm.

Please bring a pair secateurs and gardening gloves if you have them.
