Course Description

Grafting teaches the techniques and principles of grafting, which is the process of joining two plant parts (typically a rootstock and a scion) to grow as a single plant.

During the session you will learn about the theory of grafting and its applications.  Observe practical demonstrations on some of the many techniques such as “top working” and “whip grafting” and you will have an opportunity to graft two apple trees to take home with you.  A small selection of scion wood (varieties) will be provided but if you have a special variety you might wish to propagate, please feel free to bring it along (one year growth approximately pencil thick).

All tools and equipment will be provided.
