CORE CPD UPDATE FOR THE DENTAL TEAM

The course will be delivered by a panel of presenters who are experts involved in their topics.

Who Should Attend?

It is aimed at all qualified members of the Dental team. It meets the new GDC requirements for enhanced CPD.

Aim: This is a bespoke course which will enable all members of the dental team to fulfil the minimum verifiable CPD requirement highly recommended by the GDC. It is an interactive course covering Medical emergencies, Disinfection and decontamination, Radiology and radiation protection, legal and ethical issues and complaints handling, Oral cancer and Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

Course Description

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the event delegates will be able to:

• Recognise and explain the common medical emergencies that may present in practice and how these may present.
• Explain the importance of decontamination, how to ensure high standard are maintained and gain tips for improvement.
• Describe the quality assurance required for exposure to radiation and understand the importance of IRMER
• Identify why compaints arise, learn how to deal with them effectively and prevent them in the future.
• Describe the presentation and aetiology of oral cancers and discuss management principles in primary care.
• Recall current changes to legisation in child and adult safeguarding and how and when to take action.
