Summer 2025: Lake District Day TripInfo Location Contact More Info Event Information![]()
DescriptionSaturday 12 July, 8.15am-7pm The Lake District is the UK’s Largest and most visited National Park. It is the largest area of land to be named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy incredible scenic views of this beautiful landscape on a day trip to one of the prettiest areas in the Lake District – Grasmere and Derwentwater. One of the best ways to see the area is to go on a scenic walk! Join us as we enjoy a gentle walk around Grasmere Lake taking in the forest and river views along the way. After our walk, we will have some free time for lunch in Grasmere village where you can also visit Wordsworth’s grave and Daffodil Garden as well as the world-famous Gingerbread Shop. Following your visit to Grasmere we will travel to Derwentwater Lake to enjoy some time relaxing by the lake and seeing the famous view point at Friar’s Crag. ‘The loveliest spot man hath ever found’? Come along and see if Wordsworth was right. Please note, this is only available to students who start the Summer Research Programme on 7 July.
