Course Description

This one-day workshop will focus on the practical diagnosis of cardiology and respiratory cases in a first-opinion setting, with lectures, case discussions and practical radiograph interpretation. A series of interactive case discussions, ranging from the straight-forward to the complex, will highlight the diagnostic challenges presented when dealing with these cases. Case discussions will be based around the interpretation of thoracic radiographs, but will also cover other diagnostic and investigative techniques available and case management. Practical film reading sessions interpreting thoracic radiographs in both respiratory and cardiac cases will help you to develop a systematic approach to their interpretation.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Apply a systematic approach to interpreting thoracic radiographs, increasing confidence and competence when using radiography for cardiorespiratory cases

  • Demonstrate a logical and systematic approach to investigating cardiorespiratory cases and an understanding of the wider diagnostic techniques available and when to refer.
