Course Description

This brand new course is aimed at the recent graduate, or practitioner.

Day 1 will hone your orthopaedic skills in the distal limb, providing useful guidance on commonly performed diagnostic procedures. In the morning lectures will briefly cover relevant distal limb anatomy and advice on diagnostic analgesia , before a number of shorter "How to..." sessions featuring tips and tricks you won't find in the books. The afternoon will give delegates the opportunity to put these skills into practice on their own cadaver limb before using imaging and dissection to confirm their success!

Day two will concentrate on the stifle, a common site of lameness localisation but due to complex anatomy and resulting imaging limitations, it can pose a diagnostic challenge. Lectures through the morning will cover the array of techniques we utilise to completely assess stifle pathology and how they complement each other. The afternoon will involve interactive sessions on ultrasound, diagnostic anaesthesia and case-based discussion.
