Forest Bathing - An opportunity to destress, relax, and enhance your wellbeing

Course Code

FBNess
Course Description

You will be taken on a slow, gentle walk through The Spinney woods and supported in immersing yourself in the natural world around you, through connection to your senses.

Forest bathing or shinrin-yoku as it is known as in Japan, is a wellbeing and nature connection practice. It simply means taking in nature using all your senses. It does not involve any swimming and or hugging trees (unless you want to hug a tree, of course!). Forest bathing encourages you to slow down, quieten the mind and relax through immersing yourself in nature.

At times we will gather in a group to share our experience, however this is optional so there is no pressure to participate in this element if you do not wish to.

Research in Japan shows that Forest Bathing has many benefits including:

·       helping to reduce stress,

·       reduce blood pressure,

·       improve sleep quality & concentration,

·       stimulates creative thinking,

·       enhancing our immune system.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and time of year, along with waterproofs if it forecasts rain. Walking boots/sturdy shoes are also recommended as it can be muddy and wet underfoot.

Who is this suitable for?

No experience is necessary, everyone aged 18+ is welcome and children aged 16+ if they are accompanied by a responsible adult. Suitable for all levels of fitness as we walk very slowly and cover no more than 1km.

Unfortunately the sessions are not suitable for those who are unable to walk unaided as we go off the main paths and the ground can be uneven.

Cancellation policy

The session would only be cancelled due to extreme weather, low booking numbers  or other unforeseen circumstances.

If we don’t meet the minimum number of bookings to run the course we would contact you at least 72 hours before to inform you of this decision. If we had to cancel you would receive a refund for your ticket.

By booking an event you agree to the terms and conditions, read them at https://www.journeysinnature.com/terms-conditions-1
