Geographic Data Science School

he Geographic Data Science School is brought to you by the Geographic Data Science Lab (GDSL), a premier research group based at the University of Liverpool working at the intersection of geography and data science. 

Registration options

Join us IN PERSON or ONLINE for a series of intensive, hands-on training sessions across many facets of geographic and spatial data science. You can join FOR THE FULL WEEK or select one or multiple SINGLE DAYS (different fees apply).

Structure

The School includes 9 sessions, with morning (AM) sessions from 09.30 -12.30 and afternoon (PM) sessions from 13.30 -16.30:
- DAY 1 - 08/09: Introduction to Spatial Data (AM) and Map Design (PM)
- DAY 2 - 09/09: Making Sense of Places (AM) and Geodemographics (PM)
- DAY 3 - 10/09: Raster Analysis (AM) and Remote Sensing (PM)
- DAY 4 - 11/09: Supervised/Unsupervised Machine Learning (AM) and Sentiment Analysis (PM)
- DAY 5 - 12/09: Network Analysis (AM)

Eligibility

The School is open to applicants WORLDWIDE, specially suitable for:
- Professionals in fields like urban planning, geospatial mapping, statistics or data analysis, seeking to improve their data science and spatial analysis skills.
- Data science researchers and practitioners aiming to incorporate spatial and geographic data into their work.
- Individuals with a background in subjects like geography or social sciences looking to develop proficiency in data science to analyse geographic and spatial data.
