DescriptionThe University of Liverpool Management School and the Centre for Sports Business are pleased to be hosting the Political Studies Association's annual Sport and Politics conference on 4 and 5 June 2026. The theme of the conference is ‘Political governance and the reshaping of the sports industry’. The conference will focus on the role of government in influencing and shaping the evolving nature of the sports industry and seeks to better understand the interplay and evolving dynamics between sport and politics. All delegates are invited to an informal social gathering at Liverpool Arts Bar, Hope St, on Wednesday 3 June from 7:00pm. Registration and the opening keynote will be at the School of Law & Social Justice (ground floor). Catering will be there on the Thursday, and at Bertie & Bella's on the Friday. The majority of keynote and paper sessions will take place in South Campus Teaching Hub (ground floor). A conference social event will take place in The Philharmonic Dining Rooms on Thursday 4 June from 7:00pm and is free for attendees.
