Description

This unique course will introduce you to the works of Beethoven through analysis and interrogation of some of his most popular piano and orchestral works. Looking at such works as Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata and Beethoven's symphonies, we will discover the history, context, structure, chords, melody, notation, interpretation, and performance techniques that are also common in many other works of the romantic era. The course includes a practical dimension, where participants will have the option to experience playing simple sections from relevant pieces on the piano (or keyboard) in order to really comprehend the musical genius of the artist.

Please note that the ‘last booking’ date is only a guide. We reserve the right to close bookings earlier if courses are over- or under-subscribed. In order to avoid disappointment, please be sure to enrol as soon as possible. Registrations may not be processed until the following day if received after 3pm.
