Course Description

This course will provide insights into tirage and stabilisation of equine emergencies that are commonly seen in equine practice. It is ideal for clinicicans in ambulatory practice and compliments the two new Equine Emergency and Critical Care CertAVP modules.

The course is a combination of lectures, case-based discussions and practical sessions. It will include a practical approach to equine blood transfusion in the field, strategies for stabilisation of a critical patient for travel, practical sessions that allow delegates to develop an approach to ultrasound of the acute abdomen and thorax, and a panel discussion on disaster management with a range of surgical and medical specialists. The day will conclude with a talk from a doctor to provide us with insights into human emergency and critical care.

Learning Outcomes
