DescriptionThe 1st International Conference of the IAVCEI Commission on Volcanic & Igneous Plumbing Systems (VIPS) at the University of Liverpool will take place from 18th-20th June 2024 and bring together leading experts from diverse scientific disciplines targeted to study VIPS. Attendees have the opportunity to choose between three pre-conference workshops held on the 18th June at the University of Liverpool, focused on analogue modelling, field geology and photogrammetry, petrology and geochemistry. This is followed by two-days of in-person talks, poster presentations and round-table discussions on the 19th and 20th June that will be held at The Spine, which is a brand-new building located in the heart of the Knowledge Quarter of Liverpool and an excellent venue for facilitating discussions and networking. Our virtual audience will be able to watch the talks live and ask the speakers questions; they will also have access to recordings of the talks after the event, thus accommodating all time zones. The in-person conference registration fee includes lunch and refreshments each day, an icebreaker/social event on the 18th and a conference dinner on the 19th.
