Re-energising Academic Paediatrics

The Liverpool Medical Institution (LMI) is one of Liverpool’s finest Grade II listed buildings, and home to one of the oldest medical societies in the world.

The LMI is situated opposite the Metropolitan Cathedral and is approx 10 minutes walk from Liverpool Lime Street Station, the Adelphi Hotel, and the city centre.

Getting to the Liverpool Medical Institution (LMI)

The entrance to the LMI is at the rear of the building off Arrad Street, immediately behind Lloyds Bank.

Directions from M62/M6:

At the end of the M62 follow the signs for the City Centre, Cathedrals and Universities (approx 3 miles). On passing the Metropolitan Cathedral keep to the left hand lane as the road forks. At the junction, the LMI / Lloyds Bank are opposite. The entrance to the LMI is at the rear of the building off Arrad Street, immediately behind Lloyds Bank.

Directions from Liverpool Lime Street Station:

(approx 10 minutes walk) Turn left out of Lime Street Station, and after approx 3 minutes pass the Adelphi Hotel and turn left again into Brownlow Hill; then immediately fork right into Mount Pleasant. The LMI is at the top of Mount Pleasant, opposite the Metropolitan Cathedral.

Directions from the Adelphi Hotel:

(approx 10 minutes walk) Turn left out of the hotel and you are at the junction of Brownlow Hill and Mount Pleasant. The LMI is at the top of Mount Pleasant, opposite the Metropolitan Cathedral.
