Walking from Lime Street Station

From the train station, leave via the main exit which has a large flight of stairs flanked by two stone dolphins. Turn left and follow Lime Street until you walk past the Britannia Adelphi hotel. Turn left and walk up Brownlow Hill. This will take you about 15 minutes. Cross the road at the pedestrian crossing, continue up the hill and then look for the Red Brick Victoria Building to your left and the Foundation Building to your right. Turn right directly after the Foundation Building into Mount Pleasant. The University of Liverpool Guild of Students will be on your left. Walk to the end of this road and our building is the last on the left. As you approach the main campus there are several precinct maps giving details of the University buildings.

Rail

There are two main railway stations in Liverpool. The main national rail station is Liverpool Lime Street. The other is Liverpool Central station which operates from the more local Merseyrail network. They are both within about a 15 minute walking distance of the University. Taxis are available from Liverpool Lime Street.

Car

• As you approach the city follow signs for the Metropolitan Catholic Cathedral.
• 126 Mount Pleasant is adjacent to the Metropolitan Catholic Cathedral’s Cafe.

Bus

Most of the main bus services run out of the City centre and have stops very close to the University. The main stop is situated outside the Guild of Student’s Union. From this stop:

• Turn left and walk along Mount Pleasant with the Metropolitan Cathedral on your right
• 126 Mount Pleasant is on the left hand side just past the Liverpool Student Housing Office. The bus services currently include 78, 72, 80, 86, and 35.
