This practical one-day workshop will cover essential foal skills for clinicians working in ambulatory practice. The morning starts with lectures and the rest of the day is a mix of hands-on small group practical skills sessions and case-based discussions.

Course Description

 

Essential skills for vets in ambulatory practice seeing foal cases will be covered. The morning starts with short lectures. After the coffee break we move onto the hands-on sessions and case based discussions will include over-the-wire catheter placement, CPR, foal squeeze- when and how and management flexural deformities in the field.

 Learning Outcomes

  • Develop the knowledge, skills and techniques to manage and treat common problems of foals in ambulatory practice
  • Develop and demonstrate the ability to utilise point of care and practice laboratory techniques to assess and monitor sick foals

 Develop the ability to identify and manage congenital limb deformities
