Course Description

Run over 4 days, our delegates will develop all the skills and understanding necessary to undertake the full remit of virtual surgical planning AND free flap harvest, using the full armamentarium of free flaps for H&N

On day 1, the course offers a full day of custom planning theory and practical exposure utilising scanned cadaveric images. Through a partnership with sponsors Stryker and 3DSystems delegates will have the opportunity to custom plan cases employing DCIA, Fibula and Scapula composite reconstructions.

For Days 2 to 4, Delegates will experience 3 intensive days of free flap harvesting with each delegate having the opportunity to raise every flap (2 delegates per full body cadaver).

Flaps raised include;

ALT – MSAP – Rectus Abdominis

Fibula – DCIA/Iliac crest – Chimeric flaps based on the Subscapular System – Composite radial forearm flap

Distal Femoral Epicondyle Flap

The expert faculty will deliver lectures based on their extensive experience, providing pearls and pitfalls of flap harvest and, critically, also provide their lessons learned from restoration of complex H&N defects and appropriate free flap selection/options.

Target Audience – ST5+ Trainees and Consultants wishing to expand reconstructive repertoire
We would encourage colleagues from across the H&N surgical specialties - OMFS, ENT, Plastic Surgery
