Course Description

In the 1960s fine art influenced design and media connected to youth culture and pop music. This workshop invites you to examine the role of Op and Pop art in creating striking visual imagery during the decade. We will analyse some iconic works of art and design. We will look at how art movements influenced fashion and media associated with popular music. The historical context will be explored to broaden your understanding of the period in question. There will also be opportunities to develop skills of visual analysis. In addition to a lecture, students can examine some of the examples in more detail during a seminar session.
