Colic & Colitis – updates and tips for ambulatory practice Evening 16 October 2024

Join us for an evening of lectures with ample opportunity for questions and interacting with our speakers and other delegates.

Zoe Gratwick will speak on colitis, providing an update and practical advice for managing these cases and discuss referral. Lizzie Halliwell will provide an update on colic in broodmares including insights from her research study that she presented at the Colic symposium. Hattie Barnes will provide us with a round up on the colic symposium, providing updates on areas relevant to clinical practice.

Course Description

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discuss cases with the speakers and the other delegates during the evening. We look forward to seeing you on 16 October 2024. As these evenings have proved popular we have moved them to The Henry Edwards Learning Centre at Leahurst to give us a little more space.

 

Speakers

Zoe Gratwick BVSc, MSc, MMedVet, DipECEIM, MRCVS EBVS® European Specialist and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine   

Zoë is a European Specialist and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine; she is currently working with us as a locum senior medicine clinician at Leahurst. She also works as a consultant in equine medicine for Axiom Vet Labs. She particularly enjoys collaborating on medical cases with both the team in the clinic and vets in practice. Zoë’s areas of special interest include the investigation of medical disease, antimicrobial resistance and the effective management of bacterial infections

Lizzie Halliwell BVSc CertAVP(EM) DipECEIM AFHEA MRCVS 

Lizzie is currently working as a medicine specialist at Rainbow Equine Hospital in Yorkshire and has a particular interest in neonatology and peri-parturient mares, following stud seasons spent abroad in central Kentucky and Scone, Australia. 

Hattie Barnes BVSc CertAVP (ESST) DipECVS MRCVS

Hattie is currently working as a specialist surgeon at Bourton Vale Equine Clinic, she undertook her surgical residency at Leahurst and gained her Diploma in Large Animal Surgery earlier this year. She has a particular interest in abdominal and laparoscopic surgery.
