Course Description

The Module is designed for students from a range of professional backgrounds, delivering an innovative framework in the core principles of health protection in a global and national context:
▪ Global-National Policy/Strategy/Guidelines
▪ Global-National Systems, Programmes, Services and Interactions
▪ Global-National Epidemiology/Surveillance
▪ Global-National Law and Ethics
▪ Microbiochemical Analysis
▪ Infection Control Principles and Organisation
▪ Immunisation Design, Programmes and Evaluation


There will be a focus on health protection programmes within:
▪ Communicable Diseases
▪ Environmental, Chemical, Radiation and Biological Hazards
▪ Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response
▪ Climate Change and Sustainability


Students will develop analytical skills in the investigation, management and evaluation of important health protection cases, situations, incidents and outbreaks.
