DescriptionABOUT THE VIKING CONGRESS The Viking Congress is an international, interdisciplinary, academic conference on the Viking Age, which began in 1950, and meets every four years. Liverpool sits close to the Welsh border and has long been a melting pot of English, Celtic-speaking and international cultures. Formerly attended by national invitation only, the Viking Congress has more recently moved to peer-reviewed proposals by an international academic panel. The main Congress in Liverpool (6 days) is followed by an optional linked study tour based in Lancaster (3 days); these will be booked separately. Both events are restricted to invited delegates, with limited spaces available on the study tour. https://www.vikingcongress.net/
WHAT YOUR CONFERENCE FEE INCLUDES The conference fee includes attendance at all lectures and poster displays, lunches and teas/coffees for the conference in Liverpool. It also includes the conference dinner and two public lectures and wine receptions, the cost of a full day fieldtrip to Wales and a half day fieldtrip to Chester and the Wirral. The conference fee does not include travel to and from Liverpool or accommodation. Delegates may book university accommodation which is ideally suited for the conference venue on this online shop. More InformationOnline Booking is only open to those who have already been told that their paper/poster proposed has been accepted (see call for papers, now closed) or have received a personal invitation from the organising group. We reserve the right to reject any booking which does not fall into these categories. Residence Information:
Cancellation Policy :- - For cancellations received on or before 23rd June 2022 we will charge 50% of the charge for accommodation. - For cancellations received on or after 24th June 2022 we will offer no refund on accommodation. - Bookings will close on 23rd June 2022
