Course Description

If you're interested in the all things Ancient Egyptian, and have a particular fascination with the people that developed this great civilisation, this course is for you.

With Dr Jo Backhouse, you will examine aspects of social life in ancient Egypt with a view to understanding the people of the past, and the great culture that they formed. You will explore settlements, the lives of women, the concept of kingship, and the notion of the Egyptian afterlife.  A variety of evidence will be examined including archaeological, material culture (objects) and texts in translation.

No prior knowledge is required, just an inquisitive mind!
