Course Description

 

The stifle joint is one of the most commonly treated joints in the dog. A successful surgery on this joint is reliant upon understanding and correct application of surgical techniques. This course is aimed at those delegates who have a basic general level of competence in surgery but who wish to develop their orthopaedic skills.

 

Lectures will be followed by practical wet labs where the delegates will cover a variety of surgical procedures including:

 

  • Lateral parapatellar approach to the stifle

  • Surgical treatment of a medially luxating patella

  • Lateral tibiofabellar suture for the treatment of cranial cruciate ligament disease
