Course Description

This one-day taster seminar will introduce the basics of motivational interviewing. Learning methods will include a blend of video demonstrations, experiential and reflective exercises as well as sharing approaches to evidence based motivational interviewing practice.

The seminar will be of interest to all health care professionals and clinicians working in a variety of health care settings.

More specifically, the session will enable delegates to:

    • Identify and explore the overall spirit of Motivational Interviewing
    • Apply existing strengths, knowledge and skills to at least three key concepts within Motivational Interviewing practice
    • Experience and observe through taster exercises the spirit and practice of Motivational Interviewing
  • Take away at least three options to try out that might help with individual challenges in your own professional practice, clinical setting or service.
