Course Description

The module content will focus on the application of psychological theory to the complexity of using lethal force in real world scenarios. This content will cover theories of aggression, defensive behaviour, and predation and then use them to provide explanations for behaviour in human conflict. In order to achieve this there will also be primers on the key aspects of human psychology and physiology involved in aggression and defence. There will be an emphasis on the ethical and legal frameworks in which lethal force is used and the impact of conflict on human memory in the context of the criminal justice system.
