Bibliotherapy 4 and 6: Research Skills and Dissertation Project

Course Information

Finsbury Square

Research Skills and Dissertation

These modules have been developed for delivery at the London campus to support students with their development of research and planning skills for advanced literary study and independent research.  Specifically this module focuses on the development of research skills within the field of bibliotherapy - the expressive therapy that uses an individual’s relationship to the content of books and poetry and other written words in the search for human meaning and wellbeing.  The dissertation project is essentially a feasibility study which sets out the main lines of an inquiry including questions and uncertainties, the study’s divisions/sections, and the reading/critical/individual contexts which will be brought to bear upon it.
