Although current production of renewable energy is often small in comparison to nuclear and/or fossil fuels energy, its use is predicted to increase with improvements in efficiency. Depending on the country and natural resources, wind, solar, hydro, ocean, geothermal and/or bio-sources can all be part of a solution towards our current energy problems. This short course will provide students with an overview of the current types of renewable energy together with their pros and cons and will look at how these new green sources might change our everyday life in the near future.
