Description

Re)Discover the past and present of Liverpool in the twentieth century. This course explores the social, political, cultural and economic history of the hurricane port. From the twilight of the Victorian era as the Second City of Empire, through two World Wars and the Great Depression, the era of ‘never having it so good’ and the Swinging Sixties, to Militant, the Toxteth riots, Hillsborough and living in the City today. This course uses a wide range of documents and aspects of ‘living history’ to capture the history of the Pool of Life.
