Description

Jane Austen (1775-1817) remains one of the most popular novelists in English Literature. On the bicentenary of her death, this course looks at a selection of her novels in the context of her times, addressing issues such as women’s rights, Sensibility, colonialism and slavery, and the works of Mary Wollstonecraft, Hannah More, Ann Radcliffe and Mary Shelley.
